Sertori Lau is the given name of Ying-Lan Dann, an artist, architect and lecturer based in Narrm (Melbourne). Sertori Lau is the conjunction of Ying’s Italian and Chinese cultural lineages and is emblematic of connection and collaboration, an ethos that flows through her built and speculative work, exhibition design, installations, teaching, research and writing. Sertori Lau works closely with collaborators, clients and communities to reveal appropriate design approaches for specific situations. Ying has worked across many scales and project types with numerous award-winning Melbourne practices. Her project experience encompasses hospitality, community, libraries, tertiary education, single and multi-residential, laboratory, retail and work environments. Ying is an Lecturer (RMIT Interior Design) and PhD candidate (RMIT Architecture & Urban Design).
