Sertori Lau is the conjunction of Sertori + Lau, the birth surnames of Ying-Lan Dann.

Ying uses art, architecture, exhibition and interior design, writing and teaching as vehicles to access, amplify and design conditions for living sensitively with The World.

Ying begins every relationship by considering the immediate, medium and long-term project potential. She regards site and material histories, intergenerational and adaptive reuse as vital ethical foundations for design.

Ying is led by careful attunement to movement and time, as ephemeral, yet essential conditions.

These approaches address specificity of use, place and environment, while opening to critical perspectives, processes and outcomes that respond to human and more-than-human needs.

Ying holds a Master of Architecture (RMIT, HD+), Bachelor of Fine Art, Melbourne University, VCA (HD).

She is a registered practicing architect.
